Repaired furnace in a clean basement

Start Inside

If your air conditioner runs but your home stays warm, begin with airflow. Replace a dirty filter, make sure supply vents are open, and check that return vents are not blocked by furniture or rugs. A clogged filter can reduce cooling and make the system work harder without much payoff.

Check Outside

Go to the outdoor unit and look for leaves, grass, or debris around it. The condenser needs clear space to move heat out of your home. If the unit is packed in tight or the coil looks dirty, cooling can drop fast on a hot day in Longmont. Also notice whether the fan is running and whether the unit sounds different than usual.

Decide Next Step

If the system still cannot keep up, the problem may be low refrigerant, dirty coils, or a failing part inside the equipment. Those issues need a trained HVAC technician, not guesswork. Pine Hollow HVAC helps homeowners in Longmont, Boulder, Niwot, and Firestone figure out whether the best move is repair, maintenance, or a new AC installation.
